Passionate Pediatric Therapists with a Heart for Family and Community
Delivering Pediatric Occupational, Developmental, & Speech Therapy at Home in Northern Illinois (Lake, McHenry, Cook, DuPage, Kane Counties) and Statewide Telehealth Services
We collaborate with families to foster continuous growth in the everyday moments, ensuring that parents and children are always growing. Our mission isn’t just about superficial sessions; it’s about driving meaningful change. We foster a trusted partnership among child, parent, and therapist, dedicated to improving your child’s daily life and overall family well-being.
Our Practice
Adaptations Unlimited is a dynamic mobile therapy practice offering comprehensive early intervention, pediatric occupational, developmental, and speech therapy services in Northern Illinois. As a community-driven practice, our dedicated therapists visit families and children in the comfort of their homes and within their familiar community settings.
Pediatric Occupational Therapy: Occupational therapy for children improves daily life skills, from fine motor coordination to sensory processing, helping them become more independent in activities like dressing and playing.
Speech Therapy for Children: Speech therapy enhances a child’s communication abilities, addressing speech sound production, language, fluency, and social communication skills, enabling clearer expression and social interaction.
Pediatric Developmental Therapy: Developmental therapy supports children in achieving developmental milestones, fostering overall learning, social interactions, and cognitive development to help them reach their full potential.
For families residing in Illinois, we extend our services state-wide through telehealth. Our telehealth occupational therapy services provide a convenient and secure option, especially for those who need to limit in-person interactions due to health concerns.
The Journey of Adaptations Unlimited
Established in 2008, Adaptations Unlimited was initially a solo venture launched by Kate Davis, OTD OTR/L, as an extension of her Early Intervention practice while also working in clinical and school settings. Kate’s vision for Adaptations was to revolutionize pediatric occupational therapy, reaching out to families in an innovative way—meeting them both physically and emotionally, right where they were.
As time progressed, Kate made the transition to full-time private practice and then expanded her team, aiming to empower more practitioners to make a difference. Kate, alongside clinical manager Sarah, is dedicated to mentoring and training each team member, emphasizing the significance of genuine empathy and respecting the unique pace and interests of every child.
Our team operates on the principle of being a source of positivity in pediatrics, with a strong focus on the early intervention system. We are here to listen to your aspirations for your child, particularly concerning bonding, development, and play, and we are committed to working collaboratively towards achieving these essential goals.

In my free time, I love to go on long bike rides with my fiancé and we also do many road trips/weekends away.
I enjoy brewing and flavoring my own kombucha – it’s a fun science experiment.
